Our Team
Ruby Hogg,
Founder, Yoga Instructor
For over 10 years, Ruby has dreamed of creating a welcoming studio in our little mountain town- and now it’s finally become a reality.
Valemount is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but during the frigid Northern Canadian winters, there aren’t a plethora of spaces to warm up in a community environment. So, with her husband’s help, they brought the environment to the community, ensuring there is a warm space for everyone.
Yoga found her when she was in a difficult season of life. As a young mom, with a husband who was constantly working, living in a new community with long dark winters, she felt isolated. Her sister recommended she try a hot yoga class, and that’s all it took. After one class, she was hooked. she started doing yoga for the physical benefits, but quickly recognized the positive impact it had on her mental health. Now, 12 years later, she is just as in love with the practice as she was that first class.
She’s dabbled in barre and mat pilates and is a huge fan of group fitness and the community it creates. She can’t wait to move with you!
Laura Vogt
HIIT Instructor
Laura moved to Valemount in 2015 when her husband accepted a career opportunity that was too good to pass up. At the time, there were very few fitness offerings in town. That changed when a woman named Angela began offering bootcamp classes at the local high school. Through her classes, Laura discovered CrossFit and quickly fell in love with the challenge, community, and confidence it built.
After Angela moved away, our community was left with fewer fitness classes. Wanting to keep that momentum going, Laura earned her first Personal Training certification through CanFitPro. Soon after, COVID-19 put everything on hold, but Laura continued training at home while raising a young family.
Seeing the need for more fitness opportunities in Valemount inspired her to continue her education. Today, she holds certifications through ISSA in Personal Training, Group Fitness, Nutrition Coaching, and Foundations of Gymnastics.
When she's not coaching, you'll find her doing CrossFit, trail running, hiking, competing in Spartan races, practicing gymnastics, or training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
She believes fitness is a personal journey and that everyone deserves to find a form of movement they love. Her goal is to help people build confidence, strength, and healthy habits while discovering the joy that comes from moving their bodies.
